We are a landscape design practice combining the disciplines of art, construction and horticulture.  We aim to offer a flexible service creating and rejuvenating gardens and landscapes for a broad client base across the UK. We believe in being sensitive to your requirements, architecture, interior style and surroundings. Our approach is to create a harmonious transition from interior to exterior and from there to the wider landscape. From an initial consultation to detailed design and project management, we like to be involved from the earliest stages of planning a garden through to monitoring its continuing development.

As well as design expertise, we also oversee the upkeep of all projects where possible, and essentially we maintain and care for a number of local gardens completed since 2000. This provides us with the invaluable hands-on gardening knowledge which lends our business its core horticultural experience. We offer a full design package from planning to furnishing but are also keen to provide any of these services in a standalone capacity eg. planting plans for individual borders.

CONSULTATIONS

We recommend seeing the site as early as possible to ensure issues such as drainage and services to the house correspond to proposed levels outside and any architects’ plans. It is important to allow enough time for planning applications and optimum siting of items such as tennis courts and swimming pools. We usually allow a minimum of 9 months from planning to completion. Good contractors can require at least 4 months notice. Consultations are followed by a client brief and fee proposal for the initial stages. We are also available for standalone daily consultations. Budgets range from £500 to £1,000,000+.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

This covers liaison with contractors and site visits for the purposes of quotation; sourcing and ordering materials (including visiting quarries and nurseries for samples); and site monitoring/inspection once construction is underway as necessary from twice-weekly to monthly.  We bring in known and trusted landscape contractors (and any other relevant services eg. electrical, irrigation etc.) suitable for the requirements of each project.

PLANT SUPPLY

From the best UK and European trade nurseries to ensure quality stock. We are able to pass on discounts particularly on trees, specimen shrubs and hedging material. There is no fee for advising, specifying, and sourcing plants where orders are guaranteed.

FURNISHING

We can recommend furniture companies, suppliers of ornamental objects and planters, and also sculpture if you are interested.

LIGHTING, IRRIGATION AND WATER DESIGN

We usually bring in companies for quotation and installation. We tend to use established water specialists, or design features ourselves using architectural antiques.

EXCEPTIONAL ITEMS

Such as tennis courts and swimming pools. We recommend and liaise with companies we have worked with before and who are sensitive to design requirements.

MAINTENANCE

We can provide maintenance programmes if required, and we like to be involved in the ongoing development of the garden with monthly or bi-monthly visits if possible. We can also recommend tree and lawn specialists to provide annual maintenance care.
